According to Grindhouse Video’s US distributor, there is still an issue with rights of some sort, with no firm date on when it’ll get sorted.

I’m SO glad I didn’t pay through the nose for this on eBay. If only I had this kind of luck with other releases.

So I took a gamble and bought two of these on eBay for about $175 each...and then was able to sell one of them a year later for $350. Now I really feel sorry for that guy

Anyone spending $350 for a Blu-ray is doing better at life than any of us

It depends, I am not sure he has the time to watch it.

I thought I did well with my MoC Mizoguchi Blu-ray set. I didn't buy that to gouge, but bought it, never watched it, put a speculative listing on eBay and it still went.

Apparently some people who ordered from DiabolikDVD are receiving refunds and being told that this release has been pulled again.

I noticed it was removed off the Diabolik site. I preordered mine from them a week ago, and it literally shipped the next day and is due to arrive this afternoon. So some customers got it, I suppose.

I've seen pics of the set on Facebook, so i think some people got it, maybe early from Arrow directly or advance copies. Or they were passing the pics on from elsewhere. I put in a request for it but they've been out of whack since everything was shutting down so I'm not expecting it.

On blu-ray.com, I think some people mentioned getting their copies from DVD Diabolik.

What is going on that this would've gotten pulled just before release a second time!?

I saw another post pop up on my Facebook feed that I can't find at the moment, so I'm trying to find it again to see if they had confirmed it with a retailer or whether they were just speculating, but it was about Blue Underground sending cease and desist orders to retailers to stop the sale. As far as I can see Arrow still seems to be under the impression they're releasing it so I guess that one is plausible.

The original December 2018 FB's Arrow post was :
** Django / Texas Adios Update - US & Canada **

In February 2018, Arrow Film Distributors entered into an exclusive multiple territory license for the titles Texas Adios (1966) and Django (1966) which represented and warranted to Arrow that it held all rights to these films. Unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control and through no fault of our own, we have recently learnt that there is a dispute surrounding the rights between the previous distributor in the territory, Blue Underground and the Rights owner in Italy that made such representations to us. What followed, was interference from Blue Underground into our distribution of these titles.

Many retail customers of ours in the US and Canada have been threatened by Blue Underground with cease and desist letters on the Django / Texas Adios products that we have produced so far, namely the 2-disc Limited Edition and the Limited Edition Steelbook, both scheduled for release on December 11th 2018 in both the US and the Canada.

We place the onus to resolve the issue of Blue Underground’s continued exploitation of the films outside of their license period upon the underlying Italian rights owner. We are looking to them for resolution of the matter and in order to protect the retailers involved from any threatened action on the part of Blue Underground, we are for the moment, withdrawing the titles from distribution. We sincerely regret that this situation has arisen, and, although we are an innocent party in this, we apologise to you as our valued customers for the uncertainty surrounding the availability of these available products. We are pushing the parties involved to resolve the matter in as quick a time frame as possible so kindly bear with us as we move this situation forward towards a resolution

I've seen on Twitter Dawn of the Discs' account stating an hour ago :
***DJANGO UPDATE***
After seeing people mention that their Django orders have been cancelled/taken down. I reached out to a few retailers in the Cult world and:
“you can safely say that Blue Underground’s lawyers sent out cease and desists to retailers (regarding Django)”

Seems like it might be time to order a few of the Steelbooks from Amazon. One to keep and the rest to sell.

If Amazon honors my new order for this, I plan to make a lot of money off of it by suing Amazon
