I was skeptical that it would have been today, until I got the $10 gift code for being a long-term Filmstruck subscriber just before noon ET. But my hopes were quickly dashed.
I got that code too which actually made me skeptical that they would have a sale where I could use it. ](*,)

Does anyone know how long items remain in your shopping cart before they disappear?

A poster on bluray.com said that he/she received an email from Criterion saying tomorrow will be the flash sale starting at noon.

It's certainly plausible given past years' sales, but why would only some people get such an email? Anyone here get one?

I think the email goes out to people who have spent over a certain amount at the CC store. I've been getting those emails for a couple of years and they always start out with something along the lines of "To our most loyal customers."

I also think there is a lag. There are many times I don't get the newsletter until well after the clue is disiphered.

I got an email. I didn't mention it here because it said it was a secret and I assumed most here would have also gotten it.

Too bad this isn't happening after the Bergman set is released. I'm curious if that will be eligible for future flash sales, because it would be quite the steal at half off the list price.

It will presumably be available for that same price at B&N on release day

Again, I think y'all are being very optimistic that any BN is going to receive a gross of the Bergman sets to distribute to everyone who wants one in-store. I doubt these are even ready to go from the printers, but if they are, I'd love to see Criterion to offer it early in this sale. Won't happen, but hey, it's this or fantasize about winning the lottery

Flash sale is best for me due to elimination of taxes.

I'm saving up my loyalty points with plans to get the Bergman box for a mere $50 next year. Its going to feel pretty good.

Sale is live, no code, it's automatic

Noticed that too! Given how the site used to slow down to a crawl (or even crash) at the launch of the sale, I figured it was best to avoid that by having everything I'd want in my cart beforehand. I just hit refresh while viewing my cart and the sale was already applied. I have to say the new site has a much more efficient design.

Best part of this sale is I get to sit out the BN sale completely other than ordering the Bergman set

I was pleased they waited until today so I could include Shampoo in my order. I think avoiding a code is a good choice and can only encourage more sales.

Yes, but you can't apply it to the order you already placed

Has anyone’s order shipped yet? I placed my order within the first hour of the sale and haven’t heard anything since. I’m really looking forward to watching Jeanne Dielman, The New World, and Ugetsu back to back to back.

Didn't get any shipment emails, but I just checked and one is actually on its way, due Saturday.

Same. If you sign up with USPS, they'll send you a text message anytime someone makes a shipping label for your address

USPS used to do that for me, but something changed a while back and I don't get those any more. Just some daily guesstimates once it's actually en route about when they think they'll deliver my package, and then a few on delivery day. Maybe it's because I have the notifications sent by email?
