I myself wonder why some releases have a back cover blurb written in Justify and others don't.

We had a good run there at the end with Domino's Pizza, at least

To add on, I've always wondered why some of the inner prints are a straight black, like Yi Yi or Fish Tank.

I was laughing pretty hard at that one. At least we will always have the memories.

I assume just to save money on a reissue that might not sell all that well.

Well, yes and no. Criterion's covers (+ spines and backcovers) follow quite strict patterns, so it's always surprising to stumble of the few that don't. I recall for instance the story with the slightly misaligned spines a few years ago.

If slightly misaligned spines surprise you and warrant discussion, you might want to try going outdoors once in a while. There’s trees and flowers and people and stuff out there.

Well, this is the criterionforum, not the treesandflowersandpeopleandstuffforum.
Joke aside, it's not like I care or so, it's just those small things in life that can make one chuckle.

And the individual covers for the Police Story films:

I know that this is probably appearing because of the UK Eureka releases but this does make me wonder whether this might bode well in the future for a release of Police Story III: Supercop, previously released by Criterion on Laserdisc.

These cover images are all more square-shaped than normal. This isn't a packaging change, is it?

I can't speak to the ones that swo posted but I resized the two Police Story ones so they would not display too large.

I usually don't care too much about the cover art, but god the entire police story package is horrible.

A Face in the Crowd and Diamonds of the Night are both great, although the images on the Police Story set look very uncanny to me.

I agree. Exquisite, especially the latter! But is it just me or the guy on the FITC one is pointing at his derriere? :)
