With the Dietrich clue The Song of Songs makes a lot of sense.

It seems both Applause and Love Me Tonight are out of print from Kino, and Love Me Tonight is now a MOD disc from Universal archive (not sure when those happened).

Song of Songs is okay, though it feels more like a "Paramount" film than a Mamoulian, by which I mean imitation Sternberg lighting and sexual psychodrama with a touch of Lubitsch's Europe. It's better than Queen Christina at least. Saving it from obscurity in a Dietrich box would be nice, but those first four Mamoulians are all masterpieces that deserve better releases (or any release in the case of City Streets).

Was Alexander Sokurov’s phantom page added just recently or was it there for a while?

He was part of a Filmstruck batch, so it connotes nothing.

I was thinking Adventureland. No dobut the forum will debate it's quality but it strikes me as something Criterion could easily market. Who knows though.

Nothing to debate about---err, should just simply say one of my favorites of the past two decades. The current blu ray is pretty substantial, then again similar things have happened.

I really like Mads Mikkelsen but The Salvation is um...well not much of anything. It's not exactly bad per se but it's WHOLLY unremarkable. Eva Green is just a mute prop in the film. She's just...there.

It’s almost definitely a false alarm: the phantom pages have basically turned into a bunch of red herrings since Filmstruck names began appearing. A bunch of people still think a Moodysson is coming and it wasn’t just the usual appearance before a title appeared on Filmstruck a few weeks later (which it did)

The To is probably for an imminent Filmstruck appearance of one or both of the IFC titles (Mad Detective and Vengeance, though if it were the former I'd expect a phantom page for Wai Ka-fai as well). I all but guarantee it won't be Too Many Ways to Be No. 1, which aside from being formally credited to Wai is one of the numerous ex-Golden Harvest titles that Warner Bros. has chosen to bury.

Thank you guys for extinguishing my wild fancy about The Mission. Yeah, it was too good to be true.

Filmstruck already has Vengeance up along with The Mission as a "Johnnie To Triad Double Feature."

I still. Don't really understand why they receive phantom pages for filmstruck movies

I assume the phantom pages are also used for some sort of internal server-side database to keep track of things, probably with a lot of metadata about licenses and things like that.

It appears that the new Criterion website has done away with the cast/crew database entirely. Looks like phantom pages are, well, phantom.
