Re: ClassicFlix
I think the wording is just confusing-- they're releasing these titles on DVD and their Blu-ray release is the first in the world

Re: ClassicFlix
Bluray.com reviews Another Man's Poison.... It looks very good. But a "wait and see" is required for future releases, because they did receive a restored version from Cohen for this.

I don't mind that myself. It's far from egregious.

Re: ClassicFlix
It's supposed to be an early nor by Fritz Lang, not a quirky no budget rom-com.

Hey, at least they used the original artwork for the cover.

Re: ClassicFlix
The announcement says "later this summer". I really hope it gets out on time for the Lang list project.

The color scheme, the cut outs, the white lines around them... It's just awful

Re: ClassicFlix
Doesn't look that great when you play it full screen (image doesn't look very sharp), but then it's hard to say if that's because of the YT video's low resolution.

Is 200 hours a lot of time to spend on something like this? I'm asking seriously. It seems like an unremarkable number but I honestly have no idea.

Good thing the cover distinguishes this from all of those non-special editions of T-Men.

Re: ClassicFlix
Another Man's Poison has an average bitrate over 30, not really lowish.david hare wrote:The Lang was previously released in Italy only on a local Studio Canal BD about four years ago from a good looking new HD transfer but the fucking disc authoring transferred the movie folder in a squeezed ratio of something like 1.32:1 It became unwatchable I commented on this here and there but nobody gave a shit, as usual. This new disc at least obiously returns the picture geometry to normal and looks otherwise like the same nice clean, sharp Canal restoration. Canal also initally released their spanking new resto of Fallen Idol in the UK with the same pinched ratio issue, They clearly have someone working on the desk who thinks Academy Ratio is 1.32. They fixed it after howls of complaints from the Lean lovers out there, unlike the limited response (me I guess alone) to the Lang years before. Does anyone know who's behind this label? I've got one of their titles, Ratoff's Another Man's Poison and despite a low-ish bitrate it looks fine.
